My name is Melissa Milks and I am located in Mono, Ontario.
I am a creative graphic designer who has a variety of experience in brand identity, page layouts, motion graphics, & illustrations.
A little more personal information about me - I am a wife, mom to 3 kiddies and lover of dogs (especially my Aussie - Optimus). I have a crafty side which I have dabbled in all different forms of art including but not limited to drawing, painting, cake decorating and hair accessories! I also enjoy photographing the little things in nature & taking portraits of friends and family.

RELISH
RELISH is a made-up Food & Lifestyle multimedia service. It is a modern eco network - providing lifestyle programming to social, engaged audiences of entertaining professionals. A full brand strategy was created for this company. The RELISH logo was created to be fun and artistic. It has two elements: the wordmark (text) and the accompanying graphic (circles). The wordmark is simple with a slight twist to the “e” to show the fun and unique experience RELISH has to offer. The hand-drawn circles encase the R in the graphic to portray the artistic and sophisticated nature of RELISH. The electronic brochure was designed to showcase the RELISH brand for marketing purposes.

Feature Show - Nameplates and Promo Images were created to showcase the style and theme of the individual shows showcased on the RELISH network.

Logo Animation and a Brand Standards Guide were also created to complete this full brand strategy package.

NESTING OWLS
The client is a labour and birth doula who wanted to have a logo and business card created. A hand drawing of an owl with eggs and grass around it was provided to design this logo. The client wanted it digitized so she can use it on various social media accounts. The colour scheme was selected to showcase the warmth of a mothers care.

ART HOUSE
Art House is a company that is a double-screen movie theatre which screening independent films. It features large comfortable chairs, love seats and staff serve refreshments/snacks to the consumers seats. They required a logo, design for their entrance, t-shirts for their staff, tickets designs as well as a popcorn container. The company is artsy, welcoming and casually chic. They want more adults aged 25+ who are culture, social and media savvy to seek out alternative films in an friendly, luxurious environment.
ADA DANCE CO.
ADA Dance Co. is a dance studio who was looking for a re-branding after new owners took over. They wanted to keep homage to the previous owner by keeping with the same colour scheme and acronym used. The logo was to encompass the feeling of movement and enjoyment.
ELK CREEK
Elk creek was created to showcase the sexy, social and celebratory nature of the product. Both the Elk and Creek font are hand drawn to play on the social personality of the wine. The Elk is a sleek, sophisticated font with soft curves that connect to the edges of the word Creek in a sexy fun way. Creek is the outline of a block san serif font which is playful for the party-going young adult audience.
DIAMOND BLACKFAN ANEMIA
DBAC was looking for an eye catching tri - fold brochure to help raise awareness for their charity. This brochure design does exactly that.
CORNERS OF THE PLANET
Corners of the Planet is a magazine that showcases unique, special hidden gems that are not well known to tourist around the world. It will feature a variety of different countries and lifestyles. These destination and adventures are ones that have not been showcased in the typical travel magazine. It is filled with bright, bold colours and crisp pictures of the locations. The overall design feeling is modern, adventurous and sleek.
NATIONAL REPORT
This report is an environmental report with regards to sustainability within the fashion industry. It is displayed in both English and French. English is located on all the right side pages, and the French is located on the left side pages. The design was created with a positive, eco-minded and modern message. The sharp triangular shapes were selected to show the connection between these messages.

SEASONED - BROADCAST TV NETWORK
Seasoned is a fictional broadcast television network that showcases the variety of different spices and flavours from around the world. An in-depth look at where these seasonings come from and how to use them in everyday cooking as well as elaborate feasts. A logo and broadcast animation was created for this television network. The design is modern, adventurous, and social.

CHARACTER ANIMATION
This animation was created using Adobe Character Animation and After Effects. The theme was duality - Attraction and Repulsion was selected for the dualities. It represents the dualities of how a child see a cute cartoon character of a lion compared to the reaction they would have if they encountered one in anger.

Assignment to remake the Film Title Sequence for The Handmaid's Tale. Create in After Effects by using images, audio and video.

COHEN'S ORIGINAL
Cohen’s Original is a premium brand with a gourmet and artisanal product line. They were introducing two new spice rubs to their line. A label was to be created for both a steak rub and jerk rub as well as a package design box to house the glass jar. Each of these designs had to reflect the product, the brand, and what it means to live and eat well.

A variety of images were used to create this collage in Photoshop to showcase the destruction of mother earth. This showcases how the technology is taking over the natural sections that are left of mother earth.

ADVERSITY MOVIE POSTER
Movie poster for fictional movie Adversity, an action drama. Movie idea was created by me for a project. It is about 4 different people who have to face a disaster in their city. The group of people have to choose to work together or apart, they are all from different walks of life. Their reaction to the adversity they are faced with will determine their story, they will either overcome or let it consume them.
